Position: Numeracy Leading Teacher and Prep
Year Levels Taught: Foundation-Yr 6
Educational Philosophy: First and foremost I must make personal connections with all students that I come across and build positive relationships with all members of the school community. I am an improvement agent and believe all students can improve. I know it is imperative that I am an evaluator of my impact on student learning for students to achieve their personal best. I aim for every student in my class to know what to do, when they don’t know what to do. I must equip them with the skills and knowledge to be able to tackle tasks that are not familiar to them. As a school leader my role is to inspire and support all staff to commit to our school goals and values.
I begun my career in two different smaller schools teaching PE, ART and Library, then went into my first grade (Prep) at Tongala Primary School. After being there for several years, we moved to Warrnambool. I have been based at Warrnambool Primary school for 16 years. Within this time I have taught in England for 9 months and for 6 years in a part time capacity at Deakin University. I have taught grades 1 through to 6 at Jamo.
