Position: Year 5 / 6
Year Levels Taught: All Year Levels
I believe our students need to be exposed to a wide variety of opportunities within a safe and nurturing environment. I love to see that ‘light-bulb moment’ when something clicks, and the facial expression when a child discovers something new that they can do. I encourage each student to strive to do their personal best, without comparing themselves to others. I want my students to aim high, be happy and know that we have their best interests at heart.
I went to Warrnambool PS and I won the Tozer Award in Year 5. I worked at a Summer Camp in USA and did a great deal of travelling after University. I taught at several local schools, including Mortlake P-12 College for 6 years, before starting at WPS. I have taught various year levels and specialist classes including Reading Recover, Library and ICT. Last year I completed the Musical Futures professional development and I enjoy introducing students to music and instruments. I am currently learning to play the saxophone and I think it is good for children to see that adults can also be learners.
